Sometimes you read an article that captures the moment – and the past, and the future – so well. Jonah Goldberg’s article in National Review does that:
Interestingly, we’re still at the beginning of ACA implementation.
We have seen so many references to the number of times obstructionist Republicans in the House have voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act (forty-five). Now the ACA is unraveling, truly collapsing in a spume of confusion, incompetence, and even panic. Let’s discover now how many Democrats care to defend this loathsome law, care to vote for a continuation of this disaster. Bring the bill up for a vote, every week, as millions more people recognize how destructive, unwise, and poorly crafted it is. Count the number of times House Democrats vote to keep this offensive, deceitful legislation in effect, between now and the first Tuesday of November, 2014.
Let Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama, the architects of this prideful and unworkable plan, watch. Let Steny Hoyer, the House Democratic whip, try to keep his legislators in line. Let Justice Roberts consider the fate of the individual mandate, which with some waves of his pen, he made into a tax. Enjoy the show.
