I actually agree with a lot of what Tommy Craggs has to say in this article, but the excerpt below does not come across so well. Democrats may not like to talk about the federal deficit, but that does not make it a non-issue.

This election was about the issues. I don’t mean the phony ones that get bruited by the likes of Paul Volcker and Peter Peterson, both of whom could recently be found mewling in the pages of the New York Times about the deficit, a matter so fake and remote from the actual life of the country that the Times might as well have inveighed against chemtrails or published a dispatch from Glocca Morra.
